Help Us Help More
Your donations and tithes to Floyd Baptist Church are vital to sustaining and expanding our outreach within the community. Every dollar you give directly supports essential programs such as food assistance for families in need, youth mentorship initiatives, and educational workshops that empower individuals to overcome challenges.
By contributing financially, you enable us to maintain and grow these efforts, ensuring that we can offer hope, compassion, and practical support where it matters most. Your generosity helps us provide safe spaces, resources, and spiritual guidance that transform lives and build a stronger, more connected community.
Together, through faithful giving, we can continue to fulfill our mission of serving others and making a lasting positive impact in Floyd County. Your partnership is not just a donation—it is an investment in the future of our community. Thank you for standing with us.
Operation Christmas Child
-
Samaritans Purse Operation Christmas Child is a ministry to reach children all over the world with the Gospel of Christ. It began in 1993 and as of 2024 they have distributed 233,000,000 shoeboxes to over 150 countries and territories.
We are truly thankful that God has given us the opportunity to participate in this ministry. Stats show that one in four boxes results in someone – the child or a family member, or a friend – coming to Christ for salvation. We invite you to become involved with this ministry.
IT’S ALL ABOUT JESUS
-
Let us know! Our community collects for OCC all year round, so the gifts can be boxed and shipped worldwide. Samaritan’s Purse is an international organization that we partner with to spread joy and the Word of God all over the world.
Floyd Baptist has been collecting boxes for over twenty years. Beginning in 2009, Floyd Baptist became the Dropoff Collection location for Floyd County. We are part of the Crooked Road Team which consists of Floyd, Patrick, Carroll and Galax. The Dropoff Center collected 1944 boxes from Floyd County this year (2025).
As a church, we collect for this ministry year-round. We have focus item(s) for each month to collect. We keep a running inventory of these items to make sure that we have all we need at the end of the year. This ministry has really grown in recent years. This year we collected over 500 boxes. This is about double what we have collected in previous years. We believe that each box is like a “little missionary” going out to show children all over the world that there are people who love them and want to teach them about Jesus Christ and His love for them. The most important part of the shoebox gift is the opportunity for each child to learn about the Gospel of Christ.
At nearly 5,000 locations across the nation, volunteers will welcome and pray with people who drop off Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes. Other volunteers will fill cartons and load trucks with the millions of shoeboxes we prayerfully anticipate receiving. Approximately 80,000 people will serve in these roles during the third week in November.
Operation In As Much
-
Operation Inasmuch is a worldwide ministry that comes alongside churches and pastors to equip and motivate them to obey the biblical mandate to minister to the “least of these.” Using the Inasmuch model of compassion ministry, we empower believers to live out their calling to serve others and experience the joy that comes from serving. We encourage pastors who want to see their church connected in their community but don’t have the time or training to do it on their own. We show believers how they can create opportunities to share the gospel by doing the gospel.
Operation Inasmuch is focused on the entire body of Christ and provides tremendous opportunities for people to serve for the first time, families to serve together, and even congregations from multiple denominations to come together to be the hands and feet of Jesus and become the Body of Christ.
-
Through 25+ years of ministry, Operation InAsMuch have seen in over 2,300 churches in 24 states and 5 countries get outside the four walls of the church and share Jesus to their communities.
Floyd Baptist has been involved with Operation In As Much since 2014. We set aside one day a year for this event. Usually late summer or early fall. Our projects change form year to year. Many of our people are involved and it takes a lot of work over sometimes months to prepare.
2025 Projects:
Small project: An elderly lady’s porch was cleaned and washed by a couple of our members.
Wood Delivery:
This was year round project resulting in 18 loads of firewood being delivered to those in need.
Card Project:
Cards were gathered and supplied to several who wrote notes of encouragement to shut-ins and to those who just needed some happy mail.
Nursing Home Visits:
Working with our local nursing and rehabilitation home, we arranged to visit with patients and delivered 81 gifts bags to the residents.
Free For All:
This is like a yard sale give away. Our church and community bring in items for months. A lot of work goes into this project; sorting and displaying items to give our guest a “good” shopping experience. Around 200 people passed through our doors.
Food Prep & Delivery:
Meals were prepared for workers that day and extra for deliveries to shut-ins.
Cookie Distributor:
Our youth as well as others baked cookies to hand out to our first responders in appreciation of all they do for us.When we engage in acts of service using Operation Inasmuch, we are joining a large community of believers from across the globe. Believers from a multitude of backgrounds and cultures have united in being the hands and feet of Jesus to their communities. We want to help you connect and further unite through this ministry. By God’s grace in 2025 we served almost 350 people on August 16th. We are thankful He allows us to serve Him through this project.
Matt.25:40 - “As you did it to one of the least of these my brethren you did it to me.”
Lottie Moon IMB
-
In 1873, Lottie Moon was appointed as a missionary to China. She spent nearly 40 years sharing the gospel with love, courage, and unwavering faith.
Her letters home inspired churches to pray and give, leading to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions. Today, this offering supports missionaries and helps take the life-transforming message of Jesus to the nations.
Let’s honor her legacy by praying and giving so others can hear the hope of the gospel.

Small Town Youth
-
At Floyd Baptist Church, we are committed to providing a fun, safe environment for our youth after school. Our program offers engaging activities, positive peer interactions, and dedicated adult supervision to ensure every young person feels welcomed and supported. We prioritize safety and create a space where students can grow spiritually, socially, and emotionally in a nurturing atmosphere. Join us as we foster community, faith, and friendship beyond the classroom.
-
Our community plays a crucial role in the supervision and support of our youth, serving as the foundation for their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Physically, attentive adults provide a safe environment where children can grow strong and healthy, guiding them in making responsible choices about their bodies. Mentally, adult supervision encourages learning, critical thinking, and resilience, helping youth navigate challenges with confidence.
Emotionally, consistent adult support fosters a sense of security and belonging, equipping young people to manage their feelings and build meaningful relationships. Spiritually, adults serve as mentors and role models, nurturing faith and values that shape character and lifelong purpose.
Investing in strong adult involvement is an investment in the future of our community. When adults step up to guide, protect, and encourage our youth, they help lay the groundwork for a well-rounded, empowered generation ready to lead with integrity and compassion. At Floyd Baptist Church, we are committed to equipping adults to fulfill this vital role—because the strength of our youth depends on the strength of the support they receive today.
